**Notes** > **Business** > **Career** > **CV Video Pitch**    This was a 3-question video pitch put together for the recruitment firm, **Really Awesome People**, that they can use to share with their client companies (mainly government) in order to help me (Darren) find a new job. # 1. About Myself (*45s*) Hi. My name is Darren and I have roughly 32 years of experience with IT including programming in a variety of languages as well as 16 years of professional experience across the eCommerce, FinTech (or Payments) and the "Future of Work" industries. Professionally speaking, I have worked in a number of senior roles including as a Project Manager, a Business Analyst, a Pre-Sales Consultant, Head of Sales Solution Engineering and Integrations, Head of Growth Projects within the Growth & Innovation team and as a Product Manager. My interests are diverse and include the arts and music; outdoor recreation such as bush walks, canyons and caves; and designing products that meet the needs of wide range of people - utilising hype cycle trends like Generative AI and the Internet of Things. # 2. What does my ideal next role look like? (*45s*) When thinking about where I want my career to go including the role that I would like to take on, I'd prefer not to limit myself to a specific title. Rather, I'd like to look at the experience that I can bring to the role - experience from both my professional life and my personal projects. Taking this into account, the attributes that I would like my next role to have include: 1. A technical element - something related to computer science or software engineering, or to one of the other sciences. 2. An environment within which I can exercise or practice my soft skills - such as stakeholder management and the use of influence in order to ensure optimal outcomes. 3. Work that tickles my interests, potentially related to Generative AI, the Internet of Things, or Investment in and supporting innovation in new technology ventures. # 3. What should hiring manager know about me? (*45s*) What you, the hiring manager, should know about me is that I have a thirst for learning. And not just in one domain but across the many different domains that spark my interest. My diverse and far-fetching interests enable me to think outside of the box. When tackling new problems, I am able to look for similarities between what I am seeing and what I have learnt or been exposed to along my journey. In doing so I can often grab a mental model or framework from areas where others would not think to look and apply it to the situation at hand. I also have a growth mindset in that I do NOT see failure as a set back but rather as an opportunity to approach things differently in the future. I am resilient and in the face of failure I will seek feedback from my friends and colleagues and adjust, so I am successful when tackling similar problems down the line.
