# 24. Cultural Manipulation ## 24.5. Methodology/Refinements/Sub-species ### 24.5.1. Cultural libel This is the invention and dissemination of derogatory myths about another race or culture. It is used to build up a negative image of the target minority group in the minds of the majority group. The veracity or content of the myths are entirely irrelevant - the most outrageous claims can be made. The only criterion for these libels are that they are very negative and extreme - the more unpleasant the better, from the perpetrators' point of view. **Examples of Cultural Manipulation:** **Racism in the USA:** The most virulently racist nation in the Western world is the United States of America 24.1. It has a very recent history of overt racism (including slavery) which has persisted right up to the present day. The nation was founded on a savage act of genocide against the original native inhabitants. Its early history is one of appalling slavery based on racial origin - there were only black slaves. The USA is still actively culturally imperialistic and has a history of trying to "civilise" the rest of the world. It is currently engaged in several foreign wars, which have been justified on the basis of cultural biases against Muslims. In the past, the USA has also attacked several other sovereign states such as the Koreans ("gooks"), Vietnamese ("zits" or "charlies"), etc. The derogatory terms in brackets serve to illustrate the underlying racist attitudes of the US military personnel that used these terms. Traditionally, culturally elitist and supremacist groups in the USA have come from the Anglo-Saxon political dynasties, with the majority populations of the US being white citizens of European extraction. There are many minority groups in the USA and each has its own set of cultural libel to deal with. The "Latinos" are from South of the Rio Grande. The "native Americans" are the original occupants of North America, once referred to as "Red Indians" because of the Anglo-Saxon and Spanish ignorance of geography. Then there are Irish and other Europeans including Italians, and people of Jewish origins. Then of course we have black Americans (now called African Americans), mostly descendants of the slaves brought from Africa to work the plantations of the first Anglo-Saxon settlers. This latter group have traditionally been the target of most discrimination in the United States. The fear of the white Anglo-Saxon population for this minority has caused some of the most tragic and violent confrontations in the history of the country. In addition, there are Asian groups of different origins, which have traditionally avoided confrontation with the majority population by keeping out of politics and using their own astute economic principles to stay "below the radar" of the main racist manipulators in the US establishment. In recent years, the ethnic group that has rapidly come to the fore is the Muslim American group. They have attracted the attention of racist manipulators and are currently the single most persecuted group 47.9. A concerted anti-Islamic campaign of discrimination has been engineered, which has successfully caused alienation, most especially in the eyes of America's most ignorant and politically naïve white, republican voting, population. Some of the acts of cultural libel used against the Muslim population include accusations of mistreatment against women in Muslim society, implications that Islam is a religion of war and violence, subliminal accusations of the most sinister type against the founders of Islam, and the implication that Islam is at war with Christendom. The latter libel was entirely unfounded, like the rest of the libels, until America finally provoked a real conflict with ordinary Muslims as a result of their bellicose behaviour in Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, their threats against Iran, their interference in Libya, and their continued support of Israel in its genocide of the Palestinian people. **European racism:** Simultaneous with the use of cultural libel in the USA against Muslim populations, several European countries joined in the pogrom against civilian Muslims, including France and Italy. Under the neo-fascist President Sarkozy, the government banned the wearing of some traditional Muslim women's clothing in public (except for rich Saudi princesses on shopping trips to Paris, of course). They also launched a witch-hunt against Roma gypsy migrants, and expelled over 1000 in one month.24.2 The hypocrisy of banning the headscarf of ordinary Muslim women in France (and other countries in Europe) whilst Christian nuns and monks are walking the streets of Europe, wearing the most overtly religious, face-covering medieval costumes, was not lost on the general public, who still can't enter most Catholic cathedrals without wearing a headscarf. Nor, for a theoretically secular state was the presence of crucifixes in German classrooms consistent with the separation of church and state and their religiously neutral constitution. The racist, cultural and religious bias is obvious and quite repugnant. In more recent times, France, Italy and Germany have all taken actions to harass and intimidate their Romany populations in a chilling reminder of the actions of the fascist regimes of the 1930s.24.3
