# 55. Induced Animosity
## 55.5. Methodology/Refinements/Sub-species
### 55.5.3. Division
Manipulators may have no specific reasons for wishing to create enmity in a group, except to bring about its ultimate disintegration and the final destruction of the group. The group may perhaps be an obstacle of some sort for the manipulator. The manipulator wishes to cause serious infighting between members of the group to predicate its destruction.
Creating internal division is a fairly rough method of creating conflict. It does not require much advance planning or consideration, because the direction and intensity of the conflict need not be predetermined. Animosity can be allowed to rage uncontrollably. A manipulator's only objective is to create an irreconcilable split within a group.
In order to bring this about, the manipulator needs some knowledge of the personalities and internal political bickering of the member victims. The manipulator can then choose any one of these background disputes to kindle and fan a fire of destructive factionalism.
