Refers to the fact that the first word of a sentence captures the reader's attention and is therefore decisive in how the rest of the sentence is viewed:
For instance, compare these two sentences: "Employers always quarrel with unions" and "Unions always quarrel with employers". Where is blame implied in these two sentences?
The classic case are the phrases "The glass is half-full" or "The glass is half empty", which are factually identical but convey a very different sense to the reader.
