# 11. Lying (Deceit) ## 11.5. Methodology/Refinements/Sub-species ### 11.5.6. False dichotomies This method creates a deception which also includes a moral or emotional dichotomy. This dichotomy makes the basic deception harder to deny. For instance, there is duplicity in the statement "genetically manipulated crops can feed the world". Who would stand against the aspiration of feeding the world and the technological possibility that GM could do this? And so an entirely false dichotomy is established, both completely incorrect and also totally improvable - but it's also very hard to contradict the assertion because it is so emotive and attractive.
