# 52. Manipulation of Memory
## 52.5. Methodology/Refinements/Sub-species
### 52.5.4. Childhood amnesia
This is the retention of few memories from before the age of four and relatively poor adult recollection of events before the age of ten.
A manipulator can persuade a victim of actions or events that occurred when the victims were children but which a victim can no longer recall, e.g. "you were such a lovely quiet baby", or "you were so fond of him when you were a child". The victim has no recollection of the period so cannot contradict the manipulator.
