This happens when we remember chosen options as having been better than rejected options.
A manipulator may use this bias to persuade a victim that they have made a correct choice and that the decision was better than the choices rejected by the victim. For instance, a manipulative investment advisor may cover up previous bad advice to a client by focusing only on the good advice he has given.
