# 52. Manipulation of Memory ## 52.5. Methodology/Refinements/Sub-species ### 52.5.7. Context effect This is a bias in which memories are dependent on context. It means that out-of-context memories are more difficult to retrieve than in-context memories. For instance, the recall time and accuracy for a work-related memory will be lower at home, and vice versa. A manipulator can take advantage of this disposition by referring a victim to home related memories whilst at work and vice versa, to trip the victim into showing poor recall.
