# 52. Manipulation of Memory
## 52.5. Methodology/Refinements/Sub-species
### 52.5.10. Egocentric bias
This is the recollection of the past in a self-serving manner, e.g. remembering one's exam grades as being better than they were, or remembering a caught fish as bigger than it really was.
A manipulator can use this to deliver credible memories and exaggerations of their own past to a listening victim.
