### 52.5.13. Generation effect (Self-generation effect)
This is the psychological bias whereby self-generated information is remembered best. For instance, people are better able to recall memories of statements that they have made than similar statements made by others.
Manipulators make use of this bias by carefully remembering statements made by their victim. They then re-use these statements in a persuasive context with the victim. The victim recognises their statements and endorses them with little further persuasion.
